The Manchester College

The Manchester College is the largest General Further Education College in the UK and Europe and the market leader in offender learning in England.

Our size offers real benefits for our learners in terms of facilities, resources, the breadth of the curriculum we offer - and progression opportunities.

We offer education and training solutions for individuals, communities and employers - and cover A Level and vocational sixth form education, apprenticeships and work-based learning, foundation learning, adult education, offender learning, higher education and corporate training.

We work with many pre-16 learners, including through our 14 to19 activities, our Studio School, the first of its kind in the region, and as a sponsor of 7 Manchester Academies.

The Manchester College has 17 campuses across the city of Manchester, many of which are based in areas of regeneration or disadvantage, where we work to ensure that the people of Greater Manchester have every opportunity to succeed and achieve their full potential.

At The Manchester College we offer young people with learning difficulties (16-25 years) the opportunity to develop independence and work skills that will benefit them in adult life. We offer our learners a supportive and friendly environment in which to build skills and confidence at their own pace.

All programmes include:

  • a thorough assessment of needs
  • small group teaching
  • individualised learning programmes
  • specialist teachers and support workers
